but this author's other work is normally beautifully done so I'm kind of looking at the editor on this one. I'm not sure if this is a failure on the author or the editor or both. when they are overused to the point of lazy writing and redundancies it really makes it hard to enjoy the book. a personal pet peeve is the abuse of adverbs. when I bought this book I was in the middle of reading another book and I forced myself to finish that book just so I can read this book. it came highly recommended so I was excited to read it.

but this one just missed the mark for me. I read some of her other books that were great. This was my least favorite book from this author. Otherwise, when that day comes, they may have just killed me too. Will he remember me? Will he even care? I don't know the only thing I can honestly say for sure is that there are still some secrets we have left between us that have to be spoken before he draws his last breath. Maybe it's because I wanna lay eyes on the man one last time. I can't ever remember him being a bad man, yet I can't shake that something isn't right about what's happening to him. I guess this is where I've changed since I found out that his execution is one of those inevitable things that life handed him. I haven't seen Hoyt Blackburn in a decade because I was so convinced he wasn't worth my time anymore. I've learned that tides turn, seasons change, and sometimes, people do too.
